Christmas at the Brown’s 2009 Style

We did our annual Griswold-thing today and put the Christmas lights up. New this year are the Santa and Reindeer on the porch and a cool little Elf with gifts on the front lawn. Heidi did a new system for putting lights on the trees this year that is really nice. Here’s some pictures!

The White House Comes Through

emb_whitehouse0004webWhen Charlotte was born we sent an announcement to the Bush White House and they sent back a wonderful letter of congratulations within a month. We did the same thing when Eleanor arrived, but apparently the Obama White House up until now has been busy with other tasks too “important” to respond! Today we got a very nice letter of congratulations from President and Mrs. Obama, and we are grateful for it. The card reads: “Welcome to the world! Your arrival is a cause for great celebration for your proud family. We wish you a long and happy life filled with chances to learn, ideas to explore, people to love, and dreams to fulfill. Sincerely, Barack and Michelle Obama.”

Eleanor rolls over

Eleanor has been rolling over for a few weeks, but even more now, and now she rolls with no coaxing! :) AND her first tooth broke through yesterday. I’m not sure I’m ready for her to grow out of the baby phase!

I wanted to post a photo of the Minnie Mouse cake I made for Charlotte. I am quite proud of this! The second cake in the background was done last minute (morning of the party) after realizing that the one cake wasn’t enough to feed the number of people coming!
